Press release from the issuing company
Friday, May 30th, 2014
BMC, one of the nation's leading providers of building materials and construction services, today announced that it is relocating its corporate headquarters from Boise, Idaho to Atlanta, Georgia. The relocation will be done on a phased basis with the executive team moving immediately. The Boise office will continue to remain operational.
"The decision to establish headquarters in Atlanta was made after very careful consideration by the Board. Atlanta was strategically chosen based on the fact that BMC is targeting additional growth beyond its current footprint. The Company's fast organic growth, need to fill key management positions to support that growth and expand geographically beyond BMC's current footprint made Atlanta the best choice," said Peter Alexander, chief executive officer of BMC. "Both management and the Board were unanimous that BMC required a more central location with a larger population base, a large talent pool and fully accessible air travel."
BMC operates in 16 markets in 10 western states, 8 of which are in the top 25 single family construction markets, and has in excess of 5,000 employees.
