Boys & Girls Clubs of the Chattahoochee Valley (BGCCV) has teamed up with the Columbus Museum to bring art education to members in the clubs this coming fall. The program will kick-off the week of August 18 and will include the Museum Outreach Coordinator who will visit the Clubs regularly and teach members about various mediums of and artists from the past and present.

The partnership will culminate at the 2014 BGCCV Member Art Show on Wednesday, November 12, and will be held at the Columbus Museum. The Show will highlight Club Members’ artwork that will be judged by local artists with winners advancing to the Regional Fine Arts Competition sponsored by Boys & Girls Clubs of America. Members whose artwork advances will have the opportunity to potentially compete at the National level if they win their respective age group and division at Regionals.

This event and partnership with the Columbus Museum was made possible through the hard work of the Women’s Giving Circle this past spring.  The Women’s Giving Circle’s area of focus is enhancing Fine Arts education within the clubs. Through their efforts, members will now have more resources and the opportunities to go on field trips and gain exposure to various arts programs in the area as well as compete in the BGCA Regional and National Fine Arts competitions.
