Monday, August 25th, 2014
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Georgia will break ground Wednesday on its new three-story, 235,000-square-foot facility.
The complex will serve as the insurer's biggest hub, housing about 1,500 employees when it opens in the fall of 2015. It will serve the company's nearly 3 million policyholders, including hundreds of thousands of active and retired state employees and their families.
The 10 a.m. ceremony will take place at 6175 Technology Parkway in Muscogee Technology Park in the Midland area of Columbus. The event will include sealing a time capsule to commemorate the new building.
