As many are aware, the Army is continuing to look at becoming smaller and drawing down the Army and Fort Benning. 

The Greater Columbus Georgia Chamber of Commerce has been discussing this impending action by Department of Army for many months with individuals and organizations. 

This Army study could amount to this region losing almost 14,000 military, civilian, and defense contractor jobs at Fort Benning and almost $1.3 Billion in salaries, sales and taxes. 

We would like to ask you to respond to the Army's request for comment concerning this with emails and letters to the address listed in the attached letter. 

All comments must be submitted no later than August 25.
