GMC Columbus’ Beta Sigma Sigma chapter of Phi Theta Kappa Academic Honor Society is hosting a book drive to benefit the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Chattahoochee Valley.
PTK welcomes participation from GMC students and employees as well as the local community. New or used children’s books may be donated in the GMC Columbus Student Center, located at 7300 Blackmon Road. The drive runs September 15th through October 16th.
PTK Beta Sigma Sigma President, Shane Kiral of Phenix City, AL, believes providing books to the Boys and Girls Clubs will help “ensure that the children graduate from high school on time, as well as prepare them for secondary education.” In addition to helping the recipients of the books, the book drive “provides GMC students and the community at large the rewarding opportunity to make a difference in the lives of children,” said Kiral.
