The Trident Refit Facility at Kings Bay Naval Submarine Base will hire more than 600 new civilian employees in the next two years, the commanding officer of the facility said Friday.
Speaking to a group of community leaders, Navy Capt. Larry Hill said 250 of those will be new jobs brought to the area based on the facility’s projected needs. The Department of Defense has already approved budget figures that will allow him to grow the workforce from 1,400 employees to 1,650.
