Delta Air Lines is helping veterans and members of the military and their families by matching miles donated by customers in November to the Fisher House Foundation and Luke's Wings charitable organizations. Delta will match donations made through the SkyWish program up to an aggregate total of 10 million miles. 

SkyWish is the charitable arm of Delta's SkyMiles frequent flyer program and allows Delta and its SkyMiles members to donate miles to 30 charitable organizations worldwide. 

The Fisher House Foundation and Luke's Wings are able to use the miles donated through SkyWish to provide air travel to wounded, injured or ill service members, veterans and their families, to connect them with their loved ones for support while they undergo treatment or recover from their injuries.

"Delta is proud to partner with customers to assist our veterans, service members and their families by providing travel through the SkyWish program," said Tad Hutcheson, vice president of Community Affairs for Delta. "They have given so much to serve our country, and we are grateful to be able to give back to them during a time of need."

Fisher House facilities offer military and veterans' families a place to stay at no cost while a loved one is receiving treatment. In September, Delta contributed significantly toward the construction of a second Fisher House facility at Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Seattle. Luke's Wings provides families with the means to travel to be with their loved one during the service member's hospitalization and rehabilitation.

In addition to the Fisher House Foundation and Luke's Wings, Delta's support of the military also includes partnerships with the Marine Toys for Tots campaign, Wounded Warriors, select USO locations throughout the country and the Freedom Center in Detroit. The airline's support for these organizations is part of its Force for Global Good, through which Delta employees contribute time, energy and millions of dollars to a host of global philanthropic causes.
