The 6th Annual Honor Tour, sponsored by Batson-Cook Construction, hosted 30 local Veterans and guests at an event in their honor at the National Infantry Museum in Columbus, Georgia. The tour was held to celebrate and salute members of all branches of the military for their dedication and service to this country. Veterans were treated to an Honor Guard Salute upon arrival, guided tours of the museum, a lunch banquet and IMAX film screening.
"When I saw those soldiers standing there for the Honor Guard Salute, it was so lovely it brought a tear to my eye. You folks at Batson-Cook have done a heck of a job to make us veterans feel special," shared Bernard Silverstein, a veteran of the United States Air Force who served in World War II from 1942-1946.
Since its inaugural year, the Honor Tour has brought over 225 veterans and guests to the museum from various cities throughout the region, including Auburn and Dothan, Alabama, and West Point, Newnan, and LaGrange, Georgia, as well as the veterans from Columbus.
“The Honor Bus Tour is an event we look forward to each and every year,” states Travis Evans, project manager for Batson-Cook. “These great men and women have sacrificed so much for our country and it is truly humbling for us to honor them in this way.”
