TOURISM IS ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

The Columbus Convention & Visitors Bureau is pleased to report on the events arriving this week. The CVB, as the official Destination Marketing Organization for Columbus, along with other hospitality partners, is working to market, track and/or service these groups.

Visitors attending meetings, military related visitors, events, and tournaments in the Columbus area will generate approximately $1.2 million in Direct Visitor Spending this week.

There will be an estimated 20,564 people attending event(s) in Columbus and the area. The Groups listed below represent a portion of the business taking place in the community.

FT. BENNING GRADUATIONS

The Columbus Convention & Visitors Bureau is tracking and servicing a number of Ft. Benning graduations, because families and relatives attending have an impact on services, attractions, retail, hotels, etc. It is estimated that approximately 200 graduates per unit participate in each ceremony.*+
