The Georgia Historical Society has been awarded its fifth consecutive 4 Star Rating from Charity Navigator, the largest charity evaluator in America, for sound fiscal management and commitment to accountability and transparency, a distinction that places The Society among an elite 4% of charities in America.

“Receiving four out of a possible four stars indicates that your organization adheres to good governance and other best practices that minimize the chance of unethical activities and consistently executes its mission in a fiscally responsible way,” said Ken Berger, President and Chief Executive Officer of Charity Navigator.  “This exceptional designation from Charity Navigator differentiates Georgia Historical Society from its peers and demonstrates to the public it is worthy of their trust.”

“We are extremely honored to receive this designation for the fifth year in a row,” said Dr. W. Todd Groce, President and CEO of the Georgia Historical Society.  “Our donors are integral to the mission of the Georgia Historical Society and as stewards of their contributions it is our responsibility to model fiscal responsibility and integrity through ethical business practices.  This recognition would not be possible without the oversight of a dedicated Board of Curators chaired by Robert S. Jepson, Jr., the determination of the GHF staff, and the outstanding, day-to-day fiscal leadership of our Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Laura Garcia-Culler.  Donors can give to GHS with confidence” added Groce.

Charity Navigator uses data-driven analysis to profile and rank the charitable sector and evaluates ten times more charities than its nearest competitor making it the leading charity evaluator in America.
