Synovus Bank, a Georgia-chartered, FDIC insured bank, today announced the selection of Donald L. “Don” Gaudette, Jr. as the Chief Executive Officer of Synovus Bank in Orlando, Florida.

“We are excited to have an experienced banker like Don join our team and lead the Orlando group as they continue to expand our ability to win business in Central Florida,” said R. Dallis “D” Copeland Jr., Chief Community Banking Officer of Synovus.

Synovus Bank’s Orlando office includes branch banking as well as knowledgeable local corporate real estate and commercial bankers.

Gaudette has more than 30 years in banking, and most recently served as the Orlando Market President for Hancock Bank. He worked for SunTrust Bank for 12 years as Manager of their Commercial Banking Real Estate Division and as Director of Corporate and Investment Banking.  Gaudette also served as Orlando Market President for Mercantile Bank. He graduated from Bowling Green State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, and has a Master’s degree from Western New England University in Springfield, Massachusetts.
