Author Susan Orlean to Appear in Columbus on Feb. 1st

SUSAN ORLEAN, called “a national treasure” by the Washington Post, is set to appear in Columbus as part of the weekend-long gala for the Muscogee County Library Foundation.

Acclaimed for her novel The Orchid Thief as well as her reporting in New Yorker magazine, Orlean will speak to Columbus audiences about her work including her current novel-in-progress The Library Book.

Her free public appearance is entitled “For the Love of Libraries:  A Writer’s Journey” and will take place at 1:00pm on Sunday, February 1st in the Columbus Public Library Auditorium, 3000 Macon Road. No advance reservations are required for this event. Copies of Ms. Orlean’s books will be for sale, and she will be available to sign her work after her presentation.

Ms. Orlean will also be the keynote speaker for the Saturday evening Foundation Gala, the annual fundraiser for the Muscogee County Library Foundation. More information about this event is available by calling the Library main office 706-243-2669.
