Historic District Residents Oppose Allowing Restaurants to Return

Several Historic District residents spoke out Tuesday at Columbus Council against a proposed ordinance that would allow two former restaurants to reopen in the district.
The ordinance, which was on first reading, would amend the Unified Development Ordinance to allow restaurants as a special exception in the district. The properties in question are the former Café 222 on Seventh Avenue and the old Goetchius House near the south end of Broadway.
