Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Chattahoochee Valley, a program of The Family Center, is appealing to the community to support Bowl for Kids’ Sake, the mentoring program’s biggest annual fundraiser. Bowl for Kids’ Sake will take place Friday & Saturday, March 6-7, 2015, at AMF Peach Lanes. To help us reach our goal of raising $50,000 and help more children in our community follow the right path to a brighter future, please visit www.bowlforcolumbuskids.com where you can sign up to participate or make a donation. Businesses and organizations are encouraged to join.
"In addition to Bowl for Kids’ Sake being our largest annual fundraiser, it is an opportunity for friends and co-workers to come together and have some friendly competition for a good cause," says Lisa Scrivner, CEO of The Family Center. "From corporations and small businesses to church and civic groups, this event inspires fun while allowing us to provide critical one-on-one mentoring relationships to our local at-risk youth."
Forming a team is easy! Invite three of your colleagues, friends, neighbors and/or family members to join your bowling team. Designate a team captain who will be responsible for encouraging and supporting each team member to raise a minimum of $40 for a total of $160 raised per team.
To raise $40, just get 4 of your friends, neighbors, co-workers and family members to donate $10 each! You don't have to pay the money yourself. The online registration process and email templates make it easy to obtain your goal!
Founded nationally more than 100 years ago and serving the local community for over 30 years, Big Brothers Big Sisters pairs caring, adult volunteer mentors with children, respectively known as “Bigs” and “Littles”, for one-on-one mentoring relationships that result in positive growth. National and local statistics prove Littles involved in the program perform better in school, are more likely to graduate and less likely to engage in risky behaviors such as using drugs or violence.
