The Columbus Symphony Orchestra (CSO) is pleased to perform with Nashville’s Music City Hit-Makers on Saturday, February 14, 2015 at RiverCenter for the Performing Arts at 7:30 p.m.
In this special Valentine’s Day pops concert, the songwriters behind the hits of Kenny Chesney, Carrie Underwood, Blake Shelton, Lady Antebellum, and many more, will sing the country music hits you love accompanied by the Columbus Symphony Orchestra. Music City Hit-Makers is comprised of songwriters Brett James, Hillary Lindsey, and Chris Destefano. These Grammy Award-winning artists have penned hits such as “Something in the Water” and “Two Black Cadillacs (both made famous by Carrie Underwood), “The Truth” (made famous by Jason Aldean), “Out Last Night” (made famous by Kenny Chesney), and the 2014 ACM Song of the Year “I Drive Your Truck” (made famous by Lee Brice).
CSO Music Director and Conductor George Del Gobbo is particularly excited about the concert. “Sometimes in the world of popular and country music, the folks who actually write the songs do not get enough credit,” said Del Gobbo. “That practice stops with this concert. Come meet a group of Nashville's best song writers- each a wonderful performer in his or her own right. You'll hear some of your favorite country songs sung by the folks who wrote them. I'll bet we can coax some interesting stories out of them too.”
Music City Hit-Makers is presented by Litho-Krome, Kinetic Credit Union, St. Francis Hospital, Sunny 100, and Marriott Columbus.
In addition to performing your country favorites, the CSO will announce the schedule for the upcoming 2015-16 Concert Season during the performance. Concert goers will also be afforded the opportunity to purchase tickets for the upcoming season at special early-bird prices.
Tickets are $5 to $36 and may be purchased at the RiverCenter Box Office, Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. or one hour prior to the performance (enter doors located on Broadway side under covered drive to visit the box office).
