Kia Supplier PowerTech Looks to Hire 40 in LaGrange

The Georgia Department of Labor (GDOL) will help PowerTech America recruit 40 manufacturing workers for its facility in West Point. The company manufactures transmissions for automobiles. 

The recruiting event will be held Thursday, Feb. 12, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Callaway Center at West Georgia Technical College, 220 Fort Drive in LaGrange. 

The company is recruiting workers for its assembly, machining, maintenance, quality and administrative departments.   

Due to U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations, applicants must be at least 18 years old. Applicants for the production positions must have a high school diploma or a General Education Diploma (GED) and at least one year of manufacturing experience.  

Salaries range from $12.50 to $14.50 an hour, depending on the type of job and experience of the applicant. There is also a job opening for a senior budget officer at an annual salary of $53,851.   

The company will conduct background checks and drug-screening tests on selected applicants.
