Press release from the issuing company

Wednesday, March 11th, 2015

This Saturday, March 14, Columbus Technical College and College Goal Georgia will be hosting a special event aimed at helping current and future students get their Free Application for Federal Student Aid form filled out and ready for college and the future. The event will be held from 9AM – 1PM in Carl Patrick Hall at the Columbus Technical College campus on Manchester Expressway.

Not only will Financial Aid experts from the college be on hand to make sure the forms are filled out correctly but there will also be chances to win Wal-Mart gift cards and an iPad. Childcare and complimentary refreshments will be provided. Family members are welcome to attend and high school students are strongly encouraged to take this opportunity to learn about FAFSA.

College Goal Georgia works with colleges across the state to bring financial experts together with students and their families to fill out the necessary forms and get access to billions in federal funds available for college. Last year, financial aid professionals helped almost 700 Georgia students apply for financial aid at CGG events statewide. Organizers hope to surpass that number in 2015. Of the 23 colleges in the Technical College System of Georgia, Columbus Technical College served the most families (57) on College Goal Georgia Day in 2014.
