Rivertown Mazda Closes in Columbus

The Mazda brand, sold locally more than five decades, is now gone from the Columbus market.
Group 1 Automotive, the Houston, Texas-based company that bought the dealership and several others in late 2013, quietly pulled the plug on its new-vehicle Rivertown Mazda lot on Whittlesey Road last weekend, removing the inventory and leaving local consumers with questions about getting their vehicles serviced.
