Governor Deal in Columbus to Sign Legislation Naming State Mammal

Governor Nathan Deal visited Columbus Thursday afternoon to officially designate the state mammal. The law names the white-tailed deer Georgia's mammal.

News 3 was on hand for the governor's signing at Reese Road Leadership Academy, where some students made history. The school welcomed the governor with rounds of resonating applause and cheerful smiles. Their facial appearances gave away the pride they showed inside, as they helped start the initiative to name a new mammal for the state of Georgia.
