Back 2 School BASH Provides K-12 Supplies, Columbus Technical College Opportunities

Staff Report From Columbus CEO

Wednesday, July 29th, 2015

The Robert L. Wright, Jr. Health Sciences Center on River Road will be the place to be the last Saturday before school starts. That’s because Columbus Technical College will be hosting a huge “Back 2 School BASH” from 10AM – 1PM on August 8th for everyone in the greater Columbus, Georgia area. This family-friendly event will feature plenty of food, fun and games as well as free grade-specific school supplies (while supplies last) for students in Kindergarten through 12th grade!

Representatives from the college will also be on hand to showcase some of the 90+ academic programs, offer assistance with the application and financial aid processes, as well as tour parts of the campus.

Recruiter and campus life coordinator, Valerie Richardson, is organizing the event. She calls the bash a great opportunity for Columbus Technical College to give back to the community.

“We want everyone to know about our Back 2 School Bash and are excited to provide these school supplies and backpacks,” she said. “Sadly, there are so many children in our area whose parents can’t afford basic supplies and this is one way our college can vocalize its support and encouragement for these families.”

This is the second year Columbus Technical College has held a Back 2 School BASH. The third year is already on the books for August 6, 2016.
