Massage Envy, the pioneer and national leader of professional, convenient and affordable massage and spa services, today announced plans for continued development in Georgia, specifically southern markets including Atlanta, Warner Robins, Macon, Decatur, Bonaire and McDonough. This year, Massage Envy will open two clinics in Georgia, which will fuel future growth opportunities for the brand in the state.

With nearly three-dozen existing clinics throughout the state, Georgia has become a flourishing market for the brand, with two additional clinics opening in Atlanta this year. Massage Envy multi-unit operator Norm Klemmer and his wife Patricia currently have seven clinics in the Atlanta market. The Klemmers opened the brand's first clinic east of the Mississippi with a franchisee in Roswell, Ga. in 2005. They opened a second location in Buckhead shortly thereafter.

"Patricia and I have been operators for Massage Envy for a decade and have seen firsthand the brand's presence in Georgia expand at a rapid pace over the last several years," said Klemmer. "When we first starting opening clinics in our region, no one knew the Massage Envy name, and retailers were apprehensive about having a clinic in their shopping centers. There was a lot of educating to do. But in less than five years, they were chomping at the bit to get a Massage Envy in their center after realizing that we were offering services that were professional, convenient and affordable for consumers. The expansion has continued ever since."

Today, Massage Envy has more than 1,000 clinics in 49 states, making it the largest system of franchised massage clinics in the industry. The company is also the world's largest employer of licensed/registered therapists with more than 27,000 massage therapists and estheticians providing 1.7 million services a month to a total of more than 1.6 million members. 

To fuel growth and expansion, the company is looking for franchisee candidates who have the ability and the desire to learn and follow a system that values customer service and satisfaction. Franchisee candidates should have business sales or management experience, but do not necessarily need to have a massage therapy or spa operations background. They also should possess a minimum net worth of $500,000 and liquid assets of at least $150,000.
