Michael Bartell Named CEO of Regional Rehabilitation Hospital in Phenix City

Michael Bartell has been named chief executive officer of Regional Rehabilitation Hospital in Phenix City, a joint venture between HealthSouth and Columbus Regional Health.

As CEO, Bartell oversees all of the hospital’s day-to-day operations, as well as patient quality and care. He comes from HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Sarasota in Florida, where he assisted in hospital operations as an associate administrator.

Bartell’s previous experience includes serving as a director of product line and a vice president of marketing and business development in acute care hospitals in California.

“Michael is a proven leader,” said Terry Brown, regional vice president for the southeast region of HealthSouth. “He shares the commitment to high-quality outcomes and patient care that are not only important to us, but most important to the caregivers and patients we treat. He’ll be a great addition to the leadership and staff at Regional Rehabilitation Hospital.”

Regional Rehabilitation Hospital is a 48-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital that offers comprehensive inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services. Serving patients in Alabama and Georgia, the hospital is located at 3715 U.S. Highway 280/431.

Bartell received a master’s degree in public health specializing in health administration from Loma Linda University, and a bachelor’s degree in health science from Fresno Pacific University. He is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard.
