TSYS today announced that The Edge, the leading provider of jewelry store management software systems, has named TSYS Merchant Solutions a preferred provider for payments processing. The relationship gives The Edge’s more than 3,000 independent retailer jewelers access to TSYS’ advanced payment and security solutions.
The agreement also offers The Edge jewelers assistance with the transition to EMV chip card acceptance, and help with achieving PCI Data Security Standards compliance.
“Our relationship with TSYS Merchant Solutions is designed to help our customers who may need assistance with EMV or PCI or want to adopt any of the latest mobile wallet payment options in market today,” said Joe Shapiro, co-founder of The Edge. “TSYS offers our store customers insights to handle card and other consumer payments, plus the peace of mind associated with their reliable, secure processing network.”
In October 2015, liability for fraudulent transactions involving chip cards shifts from issuers to business owners who have not upgraded to chip-activated terminals. TSYS Merchant Solutions’ upgrade guidance will ensure that The Edge customers are compliant so that they minimize their liability after the shift. Adding point-to-point encryption from the TSYS GuardianSM security portfolio removes data from the jewelry store owner’s environment, simplifying PCI compliance scope.
“We are delighted to help protect The Edge customers when handling consumer payments,” said Tom Boyer, president of TSYS Merchant Solutions. “With the pace of change in the payments landscape, we are providing solutions that secure our clients’ operations, help them meet their ever-changing customer demands, and help them grow and prosper.”
