Aflac, the leading provider of voluntary insurance in the United States, announced today that the company has been named to the 2015 Dow Jones Sustainability Index North America list. This is the fifth consecutive year that Aflac has appeared on the prestigious list. According to the 2015 survey, Aflac exceeded industry averages in the areas of Codes of Conduct, Compliance, Corruption & Bribery, Corporate Governance, Customer Relationship Management, Supply Chain Management, Operational Eco-Efficiency, Corporate Citizenship & Philanthropy, and Talent Attraction & Retention.

According to RobecoSAM, which conducts the annual survey, the DJSI assessment is the leading global benchmark for corporate sustainability. In 2015, 864 companies participated in Assessment while 981 companies were surveyed based on publicly available information.

The Dow Jones Sustainability Indices were launched in 1999 as the first global sustainability benchmarks. The indices are offered cooperatively by RobecoSAM and S&P Dow Jones Indices. The family of indices tracks the stock performance of the world's leading companies in terms of economic, environmental and social criteria. The indices serve as benchmarks for investors who integrate sustainability considerations into their portfolios, and provide an effective engagement platform for companies who want to adopt sustainable best practices.
