The American Cancer Society Tournament of Hope is an annual event that raises funds to support the Society’s mission to save lives and eliminate suffering from cancer. For the first time in the history of the tournament, golfers and tennis players will participate in this event at the Country Club of Columbus.
The opening ceremonies will feature special recognition of area cancer survivors and Old Town Showcase of Homes Honoree/Childhood cancer survivor, Isabelle Fussell.
Isabelle was diagnosed with Wilm's Tumor when she was only 2 years old. She completed 11 radiation treatments and underwent 31 weeks of chemotherapy. She underwent 8 whole blood transfusions during treatment. Isabelle has currently been cancer free for 5 years. She is a happy, healthy 8 year old little girl and is currently showing no sides effects from her rigorous treatment regimen. She plays basketball and softball and even made the All Stars team this past season.
