The Columbus Symphony Orchestra is pleased to present the Family Pops concert of the season, Star Wars Meets Harry Potter: A Tribute to John Williams, on Friday, November 13, 2015 at the RiverCenter for the Performing Arts. 

The 7:30 p.m. concert will feature music from multiple movie scores written by John Williams including: “Star Wars,” “Harry Potter,” “ET,” “Angela’s Ashes,” “Jurassic Park,” “Superman,” “Jaws,” and “Indiana Jones.”

CSO Music Director and Conductor George Del Gobbo commented, “When you think of Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones, I'll bet you hear the main theme from the film score of "Raiders of the Lost Ark".  Likewise, when "Star Wars" comes to mind, it's the music that you imagine as much as any scene or character.  This Family Pops concert will provide the opportunity to enjoy many of the epic film scores of John Williams, from "Star Wars" to "Harry Potter".  Step away from the "dark side" and join us for this live performance of movie music at its best.  May the "Force" be with you.”

Accompanying the concert, Stormtroopers and other notable characters from the movies will be roaming the RiverCenter lobby.  Audience members are encouraged to dress as their favorite characters from the featured John Williams’ movies and participate in the CSO costume contest taking place at the RiverCenter at 7 p.m..

A Star Wars Costume Party will be located at Houlihan’s before the concert. The party will include heavy hors d’eorves and will feature many of the characters from the movies. For more information and to purchase tickets visit csoga.org/noteworthy/.

Star Wars Meets Harry Potter: A Tribute to John Williams is presented by CB&T, Valley Parent Magazine, Carmike Cinemas, Sunny 100, WLTZ, and the GA-Bama CW.

Tickets are $5 to $36 and may be purchased at the RiverCenter Box Office, Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. or one hour prior to the performance (enter doors located on Broadway side under covered drive to visit the box office).
