Columbus State University Launches New Mobile App

Staff Report From Columbus CEO

Tuesday, November 17th, 2015

Columbus State University today unveiled a new mobile app that provides easier access to CSU’s online courses and a host of other popular functions.

Built by Dublabs, the app is available in the iTunes App Store and Google Play by searching for “Columbus State University.” Users also can download the app directly from https://www.columbusstate.edu/mobileapp/.

The main feature of the app is to provide students convenient access to CSU’s growing number of online courses through CougarVIEW.

“Columbus State's online enrollment has continued to increase each year, and now more than 40 percent of our students are taking at least one course online, with more than 18 percent of our students being fully online,” said Amy Thornton, director of CSU’s Center of Online Learning. “Having a mobile app that is integrated with CougarVIEW will allow students to more easily access their courses via the devices they use most often and to provide a seamless online experience.”

Also available through the app for smart phone or tablet users is direct access to:

·         Bus schedules

·         CSU’s official social media accounts

·         A virtual tour of campus

·         Campus news

·         Cougar sports

·         Job openings

·         Quick links to University Police

The CSU mobile app is available for iOS versions 8.0 and above and Android versions 3.0 and above. It is not yet available on Windows mobile platforms.
