Tuesday, November 3rd, 2015
It was reported at United Way's report meeting that the campaign is at $2,676,574 or 38.2 percent of the goal. The report meeting was held at Columbus Water Works to discuss the progress of the campaign. The campaign is proceeding earlier and higher in comparison to last year's report.
"The mood of the campaign is extremely upbeat this year," said Scott Ferguson, President and CEO of United Way of the Chattahoochee Valley. "When people feel good about the future they are more likely to give and for that I say thank you! When you give to the United Way, you are supporting programs that literally change people's lives, one person at a time."
United Way staff recognized a loaned executive for his superior work in the campaign so far. Kevin White, loaned executive with Columbus Water Works, was chosen because he has achieved the highest percentage of his goal.
Several companies are off to a great start. Pratt & Whitney held its 11th annual golf tournament and with 300 players they raised $90,000 in sponsorships; Local Publix stores, Columbus Water Works, and the Brookstone School have exceeded their United Way goals; Alatrade Foods, Cott Beverages, and many more are on track to meet or surpass their goals.
"United Way campaigns are underway in many organizations throughout the valley," said Steve Davis, 2015 campaign chair. "There is a good vibe of enthusiasm and generosity."
