On Jan. 17, 2016, the Callaway Gardens School of Needle Arts will welcome its students for the 45th year.

The public is invited for free to visit three components:  a judged exhibit of needlework entries from across the United States, an incredible Boutique offering needlework supplies, and an outstanding Bookstorefeaturing the more current to out-of-print collectible needlework books.

Hosted by Atlanta’s Dogwood Chapter of the Embroiderer's Guild of America, the Bookstore and Exhibit are open from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Jan. 17-27, 2016, in the Mountain Creek Conference Center, located on U. S. Hwy. 27 behind the Mountain Creek Inn.

In addition, the public also is invited, again at no cost, to attend Merchandise Night, where vendors sell the latest in needlework tools, beads, wearable art, etc.  During 2016, Merchandise Nights will be Jan. 19 and 24 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Mountain Creek Ballrooms within the Mountain Creek Inn complex.

The Callaway Gardens School of Needle Arts is nationally recognized as one of the premier needlework schools in the nation, with hundreds of needlework enthusiasts attending the two sessions.  Session I is Jan. 17-21 and Session II is Jan. 22-27.  The teachers participating in the school are nationally certified needle artists.  Oftentimes the teachers showcase original works of art for which they are responsible for designing including drawing the patterns, writing the instructions, and choosing the threads.  The finished products are incredibly beautiful and intricate creations that resemble paintings, photographs and sculptures.
