Ernest J. Gaines, the author of such legendary novels as A Lesson Before Dying and The Autobiography of Miss Jane Pittman will be speaking via Skype with Columbus area audiences at 7:00pm Tuesday evening February 16th at the Columbus Public Library, 3000 Macon Road.
 
Admission is free, and no advanced reservations are required. Copies of Mr. Gaines’ novel A Lesson Before Dying will be available for free while supplies last.
 
Mr. Gaines’ Skype appearance is a part of The Big Read celebration of A Lesson Before Dying. The community has been reading and studying this novel in a series of programs and events during the past month, and his presentation is the keynote event of the celebration.
