St. Anne-Pacelli Catholic School announces the promotion of Buster Connally to Interim Athletic Director and Head Football Coach, Carson Hinton to Assistant Head Football Coach, and Mark LeGree to Assistant Football Coach, effective June 1, 2016. Connally, who is St. Anne-Pacelli’s Vikings Football Offensive Coordinator and Middle School Athletic Director, will succeed St. Anne-Pacelli Athletic Director Alan Griffin who, after 9 years of working for the school, has announced his resignation. Griffin is leaving St. Anne-Pacelli at the end of the 2015-2016 school year to work for White County High School in Cleveland, Ga., where he will be assistant principal and athletic director. Griffin’s wife, Jenni, a St. Anne-Pacelli high school English teacher, will also leave at the end of this school year to pursue teaching opportunities in the White County area.
Connally has been a high school coach for the past eight years of his career, with seven years at St. Anne-Pacelli and one year at Hardaway High School. In addition, he has taught middle and high school Literature at St. Anne-Pacelli. Hinton is entering his 17th year as a coach for the St. Anne-Pacelli Vikings Football Team. For the past 10 years, he’s been the team’s Defensive Coordinator. Hinton was a three-sport letterman during his high school career at St. Anne-Pacelli and went on to play football for Auburn University. After graduating from St. Anne-Pacelli in 2007, LeGree went on to play football at Appalachian State University for four years. After college, LeGree was selected in the 5th round of the NFL draft by the Seattle Seahawks in 2011.
“In his time at St. Anne-Pacelli, Coach Griffin has had a tremendous impact on the Viking family – both inside and outside the classroom. His enthusiasm and passion for developing and encouraging student-athletes will be missed on our campus,” St. Anne-Pacelli High School Principal Ronie Collins said. “Coach Connally, Coach Hinton and Coach LeGree are tremendous leaders – on and off the field – and we are excited about what the future holds for our Vikings athletes under their guidance.”
“The decision to leave was not easy to make,” Griffin said. “St. Anne-Pacelli Catholic School has become home for my family, and the experiences I have had here will provide for a lifetime of memories and friendships.”
“We thank the Griffins for their dedication and commitment to St. Anne-Pacelli Catholic School,” Ms. Collins said. “Although they are moving on to be Warriors, they’ll always be a part of our Viking family!”
