2016 Partners in Education Awards Recognizes Projects and Partnerships

Partners In Education, a program of the Greater Columbus Georgia Chamber of Commerce, recognized the Top 10 partnerships for the 2015-2016 school year at Green Island Country Club on May 10, 2016. Recognized schools were selected by an independent panel of judges and honored at the 2015-2016 Partnership Awards Banquet.
The accomplishments of these schools were shared with the audience in a video produced by Shaw High School. The goal was to share best practices so they can be incorporated into other partnerships.

Success factor #1: (Improving Academic Performance) Fox Elementary with Burger (Schuster Enterprises), Brookstone School and Pierce Chapel United Methodist Church.

Success factor #2: (Growing Career Opportunities) Martin Luther King, Jr. Elementary with 203rd BSB, Clear Channel Radio, Delta Sigma Theta, Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office, St. Mary’s Road United Methodist Church, Legacy Dealership, and Buffalo Soldiers Motor Cycle Club of Columbus, GA, for their "Girls Rock" project

Success factor #3: (Enriching the Lives of Students) Faith Middle School with Directorate of Emergency Services, 209th MP Detachment, Troy University and HHC 3-11th Infantry Officer Candidate School.
