On May 24, 2016, the Board of Directors of Colony Bankcorp, Inc. announced the promotion of J. Stan Cook to Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the Company and the Company’s wholly owned subsidiary, Colony Bank, effective immediately. Prior to his promotion, Mr. Cook served as the Bank’s Director of Operations.

Mr. Cook, 54, joined the Company in  2012 as a member of the bank’s senior management team. He was charged with improving the Bank’s operations and preparing the bank to operate in compliance with the Dodd Frank Act.  Mr. Cook began his banking career with Trust Company Bank of Middle Georgia, N.A. in 1985  Mr. Cook earned his BBA in Finance from Georgia Southern University in 1984 and his MBA from Georgia College and State University in 1991.  He is also a 1996 graduate of the LSU Graduate School of Banking.
