Back 2 School BASH Provides Fun, School Supplies, and Columbus Technical College Opportunities August 2nd

Staff Report From Columbus CEO

Monday, August 1st, 2016

Columbus Technical College would like to invite the entire Columbus community to its Manchester Expressway campus for the annual “Back 2 School BASH” from 6 – 8PM on Tuesday, August 2nd. This family-friendly event will be held in the courtyard in between the library and Carl Patrick Hall buildings. Not only will there be plenty of food, fun and games as well as free school supplies (while they last) for students in Kindergarten through 12th grade, but representatives from the college will also be on hand to help with the application, advisement, and financial aid processes to get folks registered for fall semester.

Faculty members from several of the College’s 90+ program areas will have booths and information stations in the Patrick Hall student center. There’ll be real life simulators from welding, automotive, and health care as well as mini manicures from our cosmetology students and food samples from the new culinary arts program – just to name a few.

Assistant director of admissions and recruitment, Ken Lockhart, is organizing the Back 2 School BASH. He calls the event a great opportunity for people of all ages.

“The whole family can come out and have fun,” Lockhart said. “While the younger kids are getting their free school supplies and playing games, we’ll have our experienced staff ready to register the older kids –or moms and dads- for fall classes. It’s a one-stop shop for everyone.”

This is the third year Columbus Technical College has held a Back 2 School BASH. For more information, please contact Ken Lockhart at 706-649-1893 or email [email protected].
