St. Anne Catholic Church will hold a Blessing of the Animals on Tuesday, October 4, 2016, from 8 to 8:30 a.m., in front of the church and near the flagpole in the parish parking lot. St. Anne Catholic Church is located at 2000 Kay Circle in Columbus. St. Anne Catholic Church Pastor Rev. Jeremiah McCarthy and Parochial Vicar Rev. Brian O’Shaughnessy will offer a special blessing for each animal and the family who brings the pet. The tradition of blessing animals is conducted in remembrance of St. Francis of Assisi’s love for all creatures and is customarily celebrated on St. Francis’ Feast Day, October 4.
