Columbus State University Adds More Than 40 New Faculty Members This Semester

The beginning of the fall semester for students was also the first day of class for some new faculty on CSU’s campus. For the 2016-2017 academic year, more than 40 diverse scholars joined the already strong and internationally recognized faculty.

“CSU is excited to welcome an outstanding group of new faculty for the 2016-2017 academic year,” said Tina Butcher, CSU interim provost and vice president for academic affairs. “These individuals hold outstanding credentials and complement the strengths and talents of our current faculty. We are pleased to have them join us as part of our campus community.”

CSU also added new staff leaders in key roles around campus:

Paul “Rocky” Kettering, Vice President of University Advancement, comes to CSU from the Texas State Aquarium where he directed and raised more than $150 million in capital campaigns and fundraising initiatives. He succeeds Alan Medders, who left the university.

Craig Burgess, General Counsel, previously served at South Carolina University and has more than 20 years practicing law as a prosecutor and attorney in private practice.

Adrienne Craig, Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs, previously served in student affairs leadership positions at Guilford College in North Carolina, Johnson & Wales University in Florida. She succeeds Dr. Kimberly McElveen, who recently moved to Academic Affairs as Assistant Vice President for Institutional Assessment.

Greg Hudgison, Director of University Relations, is a CSU alumnus and previously worked for Synovus as External Communications Manager and Targeted Marketing Manager for the Coca-Cola Bottling Company. Hudgison succeeds John Lester, who still leads the University Relations division as Associate Vice President for University and Government Relations & Special Assistant to CSU President Chris Markwood.
