State Labor Commissioner Mark Butler (presents the Georgia Department of Labor’s Career Center Customer Service Award to Gail Long, manager of the LaGrange Career Center. The award recognizes outstanding customer service among all GDOL career centers in the western half of the state.

The award was presented at the GDOL’s statewide meeting of its Unemployment Insurance, Regional Operations and Business Services Unit divisions held last week in Warner Robins.

The LaGrange Career Center was recognized for its customer-friendly greeting to customers as the center opens each morning. All the staff gathers at the reception desk to welcome customers as they enter the career center, and escort each to a service area to personally assist them.  The staff strives to maintain that "all hands on deck" attitude throughout the day.

The staff successfully implemented a process to ensure that job seekers and employers are smoothly transitioned into Employ Georgia, the agency’s new web-based job search and job listing service.  The staff maintains a positive, customer-friendly attitude and determination to provide excellent service by participating in regularly scheduled training sessions.
