Columbus State University’s Kappa Sigma’s to Host “Shave to Save” Oct. 13th
Staff Report From Columbus CEO
Wednesday, October 12th, 2016
On Thursday, October 13th at 11am-2pm., the Xi-Iota chapter of Kappa Sigma at Columbus State University will host its 10th Annual “Shave to Save”, a charity event to raise money for breast cancer research through the American Cancer Society. The event will take place at Columbus State University’s landmark clock tower in the center of campus. Throughout the event, the gentlemen of Kappa Sigma will shave their heads in order to make the statement that “the victims of this disease have the support of the Kappa Sigma Brothers and the community”. Kappa Sigma has raised $72,000 over the past nine years from this event.
This will be the 10th time the Xi-Iota chapter has hosted “Shave to Save”. With the support of local donors and corporate sponsorships, we hope to meet our goal of $15,000. This is a large campus event, but should be a large community event as well—people need to know how committed the men of Kappa Sigma are to this cause and to cancer research.
“Shave to Save” will be held October 13th from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. The men will begin shaving their heads shaved at 11 a.m.
