Kinetic Credit Union’s new branch at Lakeside Village in Midland, Ga. is now open. The branch is in the current retail storefront building on the east side of the complex facing Starbucks at 6516 Kitten Lake Drive.

“Having a physical presence in Midland serves a need for our current members in that area and positions us for growth in a blossoming part of the community,” said Janet Davis, President and CEO. “Midland, northeast Columbus, and Harris County are home to a large number of families and young professionals that will benefit from having a local credit union presence nearby.”

The Lakeside Village office is Kinetic’s first micro branch. The office space consists of 1,500 square feet and has three onsite employees who will provide full service activities, such as opening accounts and closing loans. The branch also features three Personal Teller Machines that provide basic teller transactions via two-way video. Using a touch screen video, members will interact with a teller who will work from a remote, centralized location. Members will be able to choose how they want to communicate with the teller – speaking normally using the built-in sound system, using their own headsets or ear buds, or with the provided handset. There is also a text function located on the screen.

“This type of efficient use of service and technology is the future of banking. It’s new to the market and relatively new to the banking industry,” said Davis. “We will be able to continue providing a strong service experience while utilizing a more efficient model. We will begin utilizing these concepts in our current branches going forward and members will begin enjoying the enhanced technology next year as we retrofit our current locations.”

The lobby will be open from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Monday – Friday and Saturdays from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. Hours to access PTMs will be extended by one hour during the week to 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. and 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. on Saturdays.

Kinetic is offering special incentives to new members who visit the Lakeside Village branch and join the credit union. They will receive a t-shirt, earbuds, and can also receive special loan discounts and bonus rates on certificates. Membership is open to anyone who lives, works, worships, or attends school in Muscogee and Harris County in the Midland area. Membership is also available for Chattahoochee and Marion counties in Georgia and Lee, Russell, and Macon counties in Alabama.
