Staff Report From Columbus CEO
Tuesday, November 8th, 2016
St. Anne-Pacelli Catholic School announces the promotion of Mark "Dre'" LeGree from Assistant Football Coach to Head Football Coach, effective November 7, 2016. LeGree succeeds Buster Connally, who assumed the dual role of Interim Head Football Coach/Athletic Director at St. Anne-Pacelli Catholic School in April 2016. Connally will remain Athletic Director and continue to teach high school English at St. Anne-Pacelli Catholic School.
During an-after school meeting today with student-athletes on the Vikings Varsity Football Team, Connally said, "This is the best decision for me and you. I'll still be involved with the football program. Stepping down allows me to focus on being a great athletic director and English teacher."
After graduating from St. Anne-Pacelli in 2007, LeGree went on to play football at Appalachian State University for four years. After college, LeGree was selected in the 5th round of the NFL draft by the Seattle Seahawks in 2011. He began his football coaching career at St. Anne-Pacelli Catholic School this year.
"We want to give a big Viking thank you to Coach Connally. We are grateful for his commitment to our school," St. Anne-Pacelli Catholic School President and High School Principal Ronie Collins said. "We are also excited about what the future holds for our Vikings Varsity Football Team under Coach LeGree's leadership."
