The Columbus Symphony Orchestra is thrilled to present “CSO at the Oscars: A Red Carpet Event” on Friday, February 24, 2017 at 7:30 PM in Bill Heard Theatre at the RiverCenter for the Performing Arts. Dress to impress and walk like a celebrity into this concert featuring the most memorable Oscar-winning film scores. Thrill to the music of Star Wars, The Lord of the Rings, Casablanca, Gravity, Dr. Zhivago, The Pink Panther, Rocky, and many more!

Maestro George Del Gobbo says, “Music from the movies, film scores, forms an important part of American musical culture. Who doesn't think of the theme from "Rocky" when you're running up a flight of stairs; or the theme from "The Magnificent Seven" when riding in to save the day, or the music from "Psycho" when you get into the shower each morning?  I know I do.  This concert contains the best of the best, a full evening of Academy Award winning and nominated film scores.  There's a "red carpet", a pre-party, and even paparazzi.  It will be fun for the whole family (except maybe that psycho/shower thing).”

The Greater Columbus Young Professionals are partnering with the CSO for the VIP Oscar Party preceding the concert. The VIP Oscar Party begins at 6:00 PM in the RiverCenter for the Performing Arts and will include drinks, hors d’oeuvres, great music, and the full VIP experience. Tickets are $5 to $38 and may be purchased at the RiverCenter Box Office, Monday through Friday, 10 AM to 5:30 PM or one hour prior to the performance (enter doors located on Broadway).
