A kaleidoscopic, high-energy fusion of film, dance, and music, Taj Express brings colorful costumes and boisterous beats of Bollywood India to RiverCenter for the Performing Arts on March 11th at 7:30 PM! When you hop aboard this exotic production, you’ll embark on an adventure that will have your feet moving, your hands clapping, and your heart soaring. In addition to presenting this first main-stage Indian production for the community, RiverCenter will offer free cultural activities for families in the Grand Lobby at 4PM. Also, a preshow reception serving Indian cuisine will be available at 6PM.

“Taj Express is loaded with action, romance, comedy, and larger-than-life dance numbers set to India’s latest pop hits and its folk-music classics.  With Indian cuisine and free cultural activities for the family prior to the show, it is certain to be a colorful and prolific experience for all ages,” states Executive Director, Norman Easterbrook.

Through a collaboration of film, music, stories and dance, the audience will take a cinematic journey to witness the love story between Kareena, a beautiful actress, and Arjun, a handsome hero of the streets.  At first it seems that they are both from opposite worlds, but their love for dance brings them together.

Produced, directed, and choreographed by The Merchants, Vaibhavi & Shruti, belonging to one of the dynastic families who have been in the Bollywood Film Industry for decades, the production is also the first original Indian musical to have successfully completed 5 years of international touring. The show will be performed in English.

RiverCenter will present Taj Express as part of its Synovus Center Stage Series in partnership with the Columbus Cultural Arts Alliance. The public performance will take place March 11 at 7:30 PM. Performance tickets are on sale now and can be purchased instantly online at www.rivercenter.org.
