Chattahoochee Valley Community College is helping adults earn their GED and college credit at the same time. TRACK, technical readiness academics career knowledge, is the newest program provided by the adult education department at the College.
Career Pathways Specialist, Demeka Daniels, is excited about the program and stated, “We currently have five students enrolled in the program. Three of those students are working toward nursing assistant certification, and two are in the welding program. All five are also working on earning their GED while completing technical college courses for credit.”
CVCC degrees eligible for TRACK include: welding, industrial maintenance and HVAC, Emergency Medical Technician, and certified nursing assistant.
While the cost of the GED prep at CVCC is free to all students, there is tuition and fee cost associated with credit-bearing coursework. However, students may apply for financial assistance by completing the annual FAFSA.
Additionally, scholarship money is made available specifically for TRACK and the Career Pathways Program through the CVCC Foundation Sabal Trail Scholarship Fund.
