United Way of the Chattahoochee Valley named Steve Davis its 2017-2018 Board of Directors Chair. Davis, President of Columbus Water Works, served as the 2015 United Way Campaign Chair. Preceding Davis is 2016-2017 Board of Directors Chair Sallie Martin, an Independent Contractor for Columbus Travel Bureau.
United Way of the Chattahoochee Valley’s fiscal year begins annually on July 1st. At this time, new Board Members are added.
In addition to naming Davis as its new Board Chair, United Way also welcomed two new Board Members: Cheryl Burns, Chief Financial Officer of the Phenix City School System, and Lindsey Braxton, New Business Development for 2WR Architects.
“United Way has a tremendous impact in helping the Chattahoochee Valley,” said Braxton. “I’m excited to be a part of the United Way Board of Directors and help advance this great organization,” she added.
Burns was “excited and humbled” when Scott Ferguson, President & CEO of United Way of the Chattahoochee Valley, reached out to her about joining the United Way Board of Directors. “I’ve seen what United Way does for the community in the past few years that I’ve lived here,” said Burns. “I’m looking forward to being a part of the great team of volunteer Board Members,” she said.
“The community leaders that make up our volunteer Board of Directors make decisions that guide United Way as an organization, which in turn impacts our community in a big way,” said Ferguson. “We depend on our Board Members to help ensure that our organization takes the right steps to make the Chattahoochee Valley a great place for everyone in the community,” he added.
