Liberty Utilities Co. Announces Appointment of Regional Independent Directors

Liberty Utilities Co., the wholly-owned U.S. regulated electricity generation, transmission, and distribution utilities business of Algonquin Power & Utilities Corp., announced the appointment of non-management, independent directors to its regional boards of directors. Liberty’s operations are segmented into western, central and eastern regions in the United States.
Appointed as independent directors for Liberty’s eastern region are Mrs. Lori Auten, Mr. W. Robert Keating, and Mr. Charles F. Bass. Mrs. Auten currently serves as CEO of Columbus, Georgia-based Focus Consulting Group, a firm providing professional coaching, business consulting, group facilitation and leadership development. She and her husband also own and operate a number of Tidal Wave Auto Spa express car wash facilities. Mr. Keating is Principal of Keating Strategies, providing policy and strategic analysis for energy/environmental and governmental issues. Prior to forming Keating Strategies, Mr. Keating served eleven years as a commissioner in the Massachusetts Department of Public Utilities. Mr. Bass currently serves as a member of the law & policy group of a major international law firm with 39 offices in the United States, Mexico, Europe, East Asia and the Far East.
Mr. Bass previously served fourteen years as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives for New Hampshire’s 2nd Congressional district, and has held a number of New Hampshire state legislative positions.
The eastern regional independent directors join management directors Mr. Ian Robertson, CEO of APUC, and Mr. David Pasieka, COO of Liberty Utilities Co.
