Aflac, the leader of voluntary insurance sales at the worksite in the United States, has been named by Fortune magazine as a World's Most Admired Company, ranking No. 3 in the Insurance: Life and Health category. Having appeared on this prestigious list for what now marks 17 years, Aflac continues to build a reputation that exemplifies the fulfilment of its position as a successful business earning strong revenues, a world-class corporate citizen and a company that delivers on its promises to customers.

The recognition comes as a result of an annual survey, conducted by Fortune and Korn Ferry, a global management consulting firm. The survey is provided to top executives and directors at companies from across the United States and the world, along with financial analysts, to identify companies that stand out for having the strongest reputations within their industries and across industries.

"We are pleased that Fortune has included Aflac on its list of the World's Most Admired Companies for the 17th year," Aflac Chairman and CEO Dan Amos said. "Aflac was founded on a commitment to provide the best possible service to our customers as well as strong returns for our shareholders. This honor provides third-party validation that our business model, which has made us the industry leader serving more than 50 million people in the United States and Japan, remains strong."

According to Fortune, the World's Most Admired Companies list is the definitive report card on corporate reputations. To compile the rankings, corporate reputation and performance are measured against nine key attributes: innovation, people management, use of corporate assets, social responsibility, quality of management, financial soundness, long-term investment, quality of products and services, and global competitiveness.
