St. Francis Hosting Stroke Seminar and Screenings for National Stroke Month May 17th

St. Francis will host a Stroke Seminar and Screenings on Thursday, May 17 from 5pm -8pm in the Sara Ruth Carroll Auditorium of the Butler Pavilion located at 2300 Manchester Expressway, Columbus, GA 31904.  The free community program will feature a series of lectures that will educate the public on how to prevent and treat stroke, how to take care of their heart, as well as conditions that can lead to stroke.  In addition to the lectures prior to the event, registrants will have the opportunity to take free blood pressure screenings, along with stroke assessments, learn hands only CPR, and more.

Below is the schedule of events and speakers:

·         5:00 – 6:00 pm – Registration and Free Screenings

·         6:00 – 6:30pm - Dr. Nojan Valadi – Stroke Awareness: Signs, Symptoms, Treatment, and Prevention

·         6:30-7:00pm - Dr. Nishant de Quadros - Intracranial Thrombectomies (Clot Retrieval)

·         7:00 - 7:30pm - Dr. Ibrahim - Atrial Fibrillation & Stroke

·         7:30 - 8:00pm Dr. Chhokar - Atrial Appendage & Heart Defects
