United Way Stuff the Bus Community-Wide Collection Day July 14th

United Way of the Chattahoochee Valley will hold two collection days for its school supply drive, Stuff the Bus. The first collection day is Saturday, July 14th from 11:00 am – 4:00 pm at the Walmart on Airport Thruway in Columbus, GA. The second collection day is Saturday, July 21st from 11:00 am – 4:00 pm at the Walmart on Airport Thruway. Terri Parodi and Denise Guthrie will be available to discuss the importance of Stuff the Bus and supplies needed for donation on these days.
The supplies benefit children in need who are in Pre K – 2nd graders. The supplies will be distributed to 35 Title 1 schools in our area before the beginning of the school year. Last year, through the Stuff the Bus Initiative, the community as able to collect over 5,226 backpacks to children in need.
Both collection days are for the general public to stop by and bring donations or school supplies for the Stuff the Bus supply delivery end of July and beginning of August. For each donation, individuals will be able to spin for prizes from Little Caesar’s who will be at the event.
We are collecting the following items:
· Backpacks (cloth fabric or clear plastic)
· 3-Ring View Finder Binder (1”)
· Notebook paper (wide ruled)
· Composition notebooks (wide ruled)
· Markers (washable, classic colors, broad line)
· Crayons (24 pack)
· Erasers
· Glue sticks
· Scissors (rounded, for young children)
· #2 Pencils (1 Dozen)
