Columbus State University invites Army Reservists and National Guard members to register for a free one-day Cybersecurity Training program scheduled for August 17 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Hosted by CSU’s TSYS School of Computer Science and funded by the National Security Agency, the Cyber Warriors Workshop supports a top-tier Army Reserve Cyber Private Public Partnership Program (Cyber P3i) with a free one-day training event for Army Reservists and members of the National Guard. Special topics will include threats and vulnerabilities, malware, anti-forensics, web security, password cracking, and cyber warfare. The workshop is free, but space is limited. All participants will receive a travel stipend and books.

“As cyber threats to businesses, the government, and private individuals continue to grow, The TSYS School of Computer Science inspires future cyber warriors to pursue advanced knowledge, mission-critical skills and military expertise to defend the nation from cyber threats,” said Michael Barker, Director of the TSYS Cybersecurity Center. “The Government Accountability Office estimates that there is currently a need for 40,000 cyber security professionals just to satisfy the government's demand.  The Cyber P3 effort will serve as a seed to enhance these critical efforts and lessen the skilled Soldiers shortage gap.”
