Columbus State University Art History Chair and professor Claire McCoy recently published an article in the Conversation, a global independent, non-profit publisher of expert commentary and analysis.

McCoy's article titled, "Delacroix at the Met: A retrospective that evokes today's turmoil" explores the parallels between the life and times of French Romantic painter Eugène Delacroix, and his sometimes politically themed paintings, with the political unrest of today.

McCoy's primary focus as the art history department chair is on nineteenth-century European paintings and sculptures. She has researched and been published on other subjects that include French Romantic Art, Studies in Romanticism, Nineteenth Century art and the history of Twentieth Century art and sculpture. McCoy is a frequent speaker at conferences and for the general public.

With a worldwide readership, The Conversation brings the expertise of academics to a broad public with timely articles written in journalistic style.
